Monty Python Speaks! Monty Python Speaks is a great new book with interviews with the five surviving Pythons (and others including Douglas Adams and Carol Cleveland). It also includes many black and white behind the scenes pictures never before seen. A very nice book indeed.
The First 280 Years Of Monty Python Finally released (was due in early 1998), this great revision of The First 200 Years of Monty Python includes many new pictures; an updated bibliography and new sections on trading cards, Pythonline, and anniversary celebrations. A must have for any Python fan!
The First 200 Years of Monty Python The revision basically makes this obsolete, but it might be of some interest for completists. It contains info and synopses of movies and the show.
Life Before And After Monty Python: The Solo Flights Of The Flying Circus An immensely useful book from the author of The First 280 Years of Monty Python, picking up where the first one left off. Even though it stops around 1992, it is very useful for all the synopses, background info and pictures that it has.
The Monty Python Encyclopedia An excellent Python book, with a few rare pictures and many excellent facts, with entries on everything a Python fan could ask for. Great reading, even though Robert Ross (the author) has a habit of making Beatles references where they really don’t belong and some strange mistakes (what exactly is "All Things Dull and Horrible?"). It is recommended nevertheless.
Monty Python: A Celebration This new book for the 30th anniversary of Python is a decent read, even though some facts are wrong and lines are misquoted. However, the pictures make it worth it.
The Monty Python (Non-Inflatable) TV Companion This not-yet-published book was envisioned several years ago by Jim Yoakum to list the references of Monty Python to American viewers (such as Mary Whitehouse, Margaret Thatcher and Edward Heath) so they could better understand the show. While researching for the book, Yoakum met Graham Chapman and started writing with him, and recently compiled Graham Crackers after Graham’s death. The book is finally due to be published this year.
